By Steffen Ritschel, Hcp 13.8, Golfclub Manager GC Eichenheim: »Awaking from a beauty sleep«

Welcome to the Eichenheim Golf Club! That's how I was greeted here a few years ago – first as a guest and then as a new member. Before that, I was the manager of a golf course in Munich for over 25 years, from where I retired to Kitzbühel after a very intense period. Here I was able to recharge my batteries and then, together with a business partner, I bought an alpine hut, which we have been running successfully for eight years. 

After a three-year break from golf, I picked up my clubs again and immediately fell in love with the course in Eichenheim: a dream course that just needed a little more care to be awakened from its slumber. When I talked to people on the board and told them my “backstory,” the idea came up to take over the management here, and so I started in 2024.

My vision is to make the facility beautiful all around and to make people happy. For the former, I have a great greenkeeping team, and for the latter, my greatest strength helps me: talking and networking to bring the right people together and ensuring that members and guests have a great time with us: on their rounds, in the cozy clubhouse, and at tournaments. Not least because of our connection with the 5-star Hotel Grand Tirolia, it was therefore an obvious decision to return to the Leading Golf Courses quality association in 2025.
