Jakob Haselsberger, President GC Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf: »Flat mountain jewel with steep view«

The idea of building a golf course on the magnificent sunny plateau of Westendorf near Kitzbühel had been on our minds for some time. But as is so often the case, the plans were gathering dust in the drawers - until we got up on our hind legs. Quasi as a "4-friends-project" we were able to open the golf course in May 2014 after successful negotiations with the authorities and in harmony with the population after two years of construction.

The efforts paid off - as evidenced by the acceptance into the community of Leading Golf Courses after a one-year trial period. After all, our motivation from the very beginning was to become even better than the other courses in the Kitzbühel golf region. That is why, from the very beginning, we have focused on the highest quality at the course and outstanding service - from the secretary's office and the pro store to the club restaurant and the exclusive aparthotel on the course.

The golf course itself, although still very young, looks as if it has always been there. It is harmoniously embedded in the existing Aunerwald forest and scores with its quiet location away from main tourist routes. In addition, it is completely flat, the only steep part is the fantastic view of the imposing mountain panorama of the Kitzbühel Alps.
